Franz Josef Radermacher has held a faculty position (chair) for “Data Bases / Artificial Intelligence” at the University of Ulm and is the Director (CEO) of FAW/n (Research Institute for Applied Knowledge Processing/n), Ulm (Germany). Member of the Club of Rome and of several national and international advisory boards as well as President of the Senat der Wirtschaft e.V. (Senate of Economy), Bonn, and Vice President of the Ecosocial Forum Europe, Vienna.
1997 Scientific Award of the German Society for Mathematics, Economics and Operations Research. 2005 Laureate of the Salzburg Award for Future Research, Salzburg, Austria. 2007 Laureate of „Vision Award 2007“ of Global Economic Network (for Global Marshall Plan Initiative). 2007 Laureate of Karl-Werner-Kieffer Award (Stiftung Ökologie und Landbau, SÖL). Member of the Rotarian Action Group for Population & Development (RFPD) - German Section - e.V. Prof. Dr. Thomas Rudolph studied business administration at the University of Mannheim, Germany. In 2000, he took the Gottlieb Duttweiler chair for international retail management. In 2006, the Retail-Lab was founded, a partnership project with various international retail corporations. Until the end of 2008, he was Director of the Institute for Marketing and Retail.
Since 2009, he is director of the Institute of Retail Management at the University of St.Gallen, where also the Gottlieb Duttweiler chair for international retail management and the retail lab are located. As a guest professor, Thomas Rudolph worked for various universities throughout the world. He has authored more than ten books and more than 300 articles about marketing and retail topics.
His key focuses include strategic retail management, shopping behavior, market research, positioning and profiling of points of sale, cross-channel management and E-commerce, inspiration of customers, frontline employee empowerment and business model transformation.
As a member of the administrative board, coach and expert, he is in close contact with the media and the praxis.
