COSMEBIO is the French Professional Association for Ecological and Organic Cosmetics, whose mission is to promote organic cosmetics and the know-how of its members towards consumers and professionals in France and worldwide. COSMEBIO has created the Charter and the label defining ecological and organic cosmetics. It federates all the key players of the field : raw materials and ingredients suppliers, cosmetic laboratories, contract manufacturers and distributors, which represents today 340 French and foreign members.
The COSMEBIO Charter is a clear and simple concept :
- minimum 95% of natural or of natural origin ingredients, whose vegetal ingredients are at 95% coming from organic agriculture. Minimum 10% of the finished product must be organic.
- Authorized and clean manufacturing and processing
- Manufacturers committed in sustainable development and fairtrade.
- A consumer clearly informed
- A complete transparency and guarantees through the control of products by an independant certification body
